28 years on the West Union Police Dept., and held the
positions of patrolman, Sergeant, Assistant Chief and Chief.
Marty Fisher - July 1, 1999 - Dec. 4, 2000; Marty served a total
of 12 1/2 years on the
West Union Police Dept. holding positions of patrolman, Sergeant,
and Chief of Police before being elected as Fayette County Sheriff
in
November of 2000. Marty Fisher is currently serving his second term
as Fayette County Sheriff.

Virgil
Smith - June 4, 1993 - Jan. 1, 1997; Virgil became Chief after
serving 31 years
with the Iowa State Patrol and was elected Sheriff in November of
1996.
