OFFICERS OF THE WEST UNION POLICE DEPT.

Officer Barry Mackey-
Graduated from Charles City high school in 1987. On December 17th
2004 I graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston, Iowa
working full time for the Rockwell Police Department where I held the
position of Officer and Chief. I started working for the West Union
Police in November 2007 assuming the responsibilities of the K-9
officer.

Officer Bob Blockhus - is a West Union native who recently returned to
the area after 18 years living in Allison and the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids
areas. He graduated from the Police Science program at Hawkeye
Community college in 1998 with a Associate of Applied Science
degree. After working at both Wartburg College and the University of
Northern Iowa he has worked the last 7 years at the University of Iowa
where he was a Security guard and a Police Officer for the Department of
Public Safety. Officer Blockhus graduated with the 183rd basic class of
the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Des Moines in 2001. He is also a
certified EMT-B.

Officer Brent Parker -
has been employed with the West Union Police Department since January 7th
2008. He serves as a Patrolman and is the Special Traffic Enforcement
Program (S.T.E.P.) Administrator. Officer Parker holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Criminology and has graduated from the 221st
basic class at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Before serving with the
city of West Union, Officer Parker worked for the Fayette County
Sheriffs office as a Certified Detention Officer and, most recently, as
the Jail Supervisor. Officer Parker is also a Sergeant with the Iowa
Army National Guard. He has been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi
freedom and Operation Enduring freedom. |
